Description Teltron Discharge TubesThe Teltron range of demonstration discharge tubeshas been designed to show the properties of the freeelectron.The D range is the original Teltron range with connectionsfixed on the tubes. The S range is a newer range withconnections on the stand rather than the tubes.Please note the ranges are not interchangeable.Teltron Dual Beam Tube SSemi-evacuated electron tube filled with low-pressurehelium and containing a tangential and axial electrongun. In the case of tangential bombardment and a perpendicularlyaligned magnetic field, the fundamentalelectron charge-to-mass ratio can be determined fromthe diameter of the observed beam pattern. In the caseof axial bombardment and a co-axial magnetic field,kinetic gas theory (e.g. impact excitation) and particlecollisions can be studied through observations of thefine, luminescent beams resulting from excitation ofthe helium atoms.
